Clinical Teacher of the Year Award | 2014 - 2015

On April 22nd during the RCH EM Grand Rounds session Dr. David Migneault (R4), on behalf of the group of residents, presented Dr. Doug Brown with this year's Clinical Teacher of the Year Award.

The Clinical Teacher of the Year Award is given to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the emergency medicine residency program or the betterment of our EM residents.  Important qualities include leadership skills, effective teaching, contagious enthusiasm, innovation and role modelling.  Dr. Brown is well known to go above and beyond to teach and support the residents.  He frequently sacrifices his personal time to provide extra help and guidance to trainees.  Dr. Brown is a real inspiration within our community and shines at the international level.  His enthusiasm and creative leadership are deeply appreciated.  During tough times of residency, Dr. Brown has a unique way to ensure his residents are learning and loving Emergency Medicine.  Respected for his bedside manners and the quality of his interactions with the different players of the emergency department, he is a real role model of professionalism.  Dr. Brown is the type of physician we, one day, hope to become and today, it is time to acknowledge him as a key player and thank him for devoting his life to emergency medicine and particularly to us, residents.

Thank you Dr. Brown!
