2010 March - Academic Update

As per usual, I will present a brief update on the Academic goings on by e-mail, rather than taking up any meeting time. This is the final update of this fiscal year, and next month (April), I should be able to present the financial report for the present fiscal year.

It is my understanding that the exec roles were earmarked to be 2 year positions. I will continue on for the second year of my term as the Academic Director if the group supports this.

I spent the first 8 months in more of a cheerleader role, attempting to facilitate as many projects as our membership was keen to pursue. Many good ideas came forward, and several of them have moved past the idea stage. However, many of the good ideas remain just that, and I look forward to the possibility of seeing more of them move to the formal proposal stage in the 2010-2011 year.
